It’s a pleasure to welcome my Turkish colleague and friend, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Kyiv.
This is a visit of true bravery and solidarity — Minister Fidan spent a night in Kyiv while Russia struck our capital with ballistic missiles.
During our talks today, we discussed the current frontline situation, peace efforts, and the entire range of bilateral cooperation topics.
The strong strategic partnership between Ukraine and Türkiye is critical for peace and security in the Black Sea region.
We spoke about the growing momentum in trade following the ratification of our Free Trade Agreement, defense cooperation, and regional energy projects.
We also discussed a number of international and regional issues, the situation in the Middle East, and the development of our new Ukraine-Türkiye-Syria format.
I am grateful to Türkiye for its consistent support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its critical role in peace efforts.
