I held a meeting this Tuesday (16) with the Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi, in Évian, France. We discussed strengthening the ties between Brazil and Japan.
We also addressed the Strategic Partnership Framework between Japan and MERCOSUL, launched on December 20, 2025, under which topics such as trade, investment, and the current international context are being discussed.
We announced the launch of negotiations for the Economic Partnership Agreement between MERCOSUL and Japan at the upcoming 68th MERCOSUL and Associated States Heads of State Summit, to be held in Asunción at the end of June.
