Meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs, HORII, and The Honourable AMEEN, Minister of Rural Development and Local Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

On July 16, commencing at 3:30 p.m. for approximately 40 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with The Honourable Khadijah AMEEN, Minister of Rural Development and Local Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, who is visiting Japan.

  1. State Minister HORII welcomed Minister Ameen’s visit to Japan, and stated that Japan would like to further enhance its relationship with Trinidad and Tobago, which had deepened following the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations two years ago. In response, Minister Ameen expressed her gratitude for Japan’s cooperation in various fields, including the disaster prevention and the environment.
  2. Both sides agreed to continue their efforts to promote concrete cooperation in areas such as disaster prevention, the environment, and science and technology, and also agreed to further strengthen the bonds between the two peoples, particularly by promoting people-to-people exchanges among the younger generation.
