Iran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until its conditions are met and US commitments are implemented, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Sunday according to the semi-official Fars news agency.
– Ghalibaf also said that Iran must both fight and negotiate, adding that Tehran would use military force to push back its enemies and diplomacy to consolidate battlefield gains when the time is right.
– “We must both fight and negotiate,” he was quoted as saying.
– He added that Iran’s conditions have been clearly explained to the other side through mediators.
– “Until these conditions are met, the legitimate rights of the Iranian people are recognized, and the Americans fulfill their commitments, there will be no opening for a return to the previous conditions for negotiations or for the Strait of Hormuz to be opened,” Ghalibaf said.
