From the videos we are seeing circulating on social media, the Ansar Allah Houthis are still inching and advancing closer to the city of Taiz itself. That’s the internationally recognised government’s stronghold in the south of the country.
– For the most part, the Houthis have been able to gain territory and take over more districts towards the city of Taiz.
– The Saudi-led coalition has been able to wage an aerial bombardment campaign that forces the Houthis to withdraw and retreat from some areas, whereby then, government forces – they advance, they gain a full hold in some of those positions; they retake some of these districts and territories.
– However, it is then followed by another counter military offensive by the Ansar Allah group to retake the area. And this is sort of the routine that we have been seeing since early September.
