The intention of the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to convene a new expanded meeting, following the necessary preparation, keeps the process and the prospect of resuming substantive negotiations open.
Although there were no developments that could mark a substantive step forward, nor was a date set for the expanded “5+1” meeting, it is important that the convergences already achieved continue to form the basis for the next steps.
The current juncture demands seriousness, responsibility and, above all, focus, in order to achieve the necessary progress expected by the Secretary-General.
The Democratic Rally DISY1976 will continue to contribute consistently and in a constructive spirit to every genuine effort that keeps open the prospect of resuming substantive negotiations, always within the agreed framework of the United Nations and the principles and values of the European Union.
