I had a meaningful conversation with Mihai Popșoi. I once again congratulated my colleague on his reappointment.

We discussed our bilateral agenda, our next EU accession steps, and emphasized the importance of opening all negotiating clusters without delay.

Particular attention was paid to the security situation in the Black Sea. Russia’s continued attacks on civil vessels and Ukraine’s port infrastructure are a direct threat to freedom of navigation in the Black Sea. Their consequences extend far beyond Ukraine, affecting regional and global food security.

We agreed to continue working with partners to strengthen the resilience of alternative logistics and grain export routes.

We also agreed to maintain our close coordination and I invited Deputy Prime Minister Popșoi to visit Ukraine in the near future.
