Pleased to welcome my friend and Belgian colleague Maxime Prévot on his official visit to Ukraine.
Due to Russian drones attacking our capital, we held our talks underground in the MFA Ukraine
bomb shelter—a daily reality for millions of Ukrainians, shared by our Belgian guests today.
During our talks, I expressed solidarity with Belgium in the wake of devastating wildfires. Ukraine stands ready to assist Belgium in countering this natural disaster and its consequences.
I briefed my colleague on the frontline situation, Russian terror against our people and civilian shipping, and our ongoing peace efforts.
I thanked Belgium for its support for Ukraine across the military, energy, humanitarian, and financial spheres since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, totaling over €4.6 billion.
We deeply value the more than €1 billion in military aid provided this year bilaterally and through multilateral programs, particularly PURL.
I am also grateful for Belgium’s assistance in reconstructing our frontline Chernihiv region and the Kyiv region through Enabel Belgium.
Thank you, dear Maxime, for the productive discussions and for the strong solidarity of the Belgian people with Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇧🇪
