Under the leadership of our esteemed President, in the foreign policy we conduct that enables a multifaceted perspective on the world and events, and that can influence the international agenda and the global system, we have achieved another significant outcome today.

Türkiye has been accepted as a Dialogue Partner of ASEAN with the decision taken by the ASEAN Foreign Ministers in Manila.

Thus, we have reached a position that comes immediately after member country status within ASEAN and that only 11 states had been admitted to previously.

Following our application in 2024, I extend my sincere thanks to my fellow Foreign Ministers who provided support throughout the process, to the Period President Philippines, and to the ASEAN Secretariat.

This development is of utmost importance in terms of enhancing our impact in the Asia-Pacific, which is the eastern axis of our global diplomacy, advancing our long-term strategy toward the ASEAN region, and finalizing our existing projects.

Since laying the foundation of our institutional relations with ASEAN in 2010, we have increased our cooperation with ASEAN countries in every field and raised our trade volume from 6.5 billion dollars to 16 billion dollars.

With the Dialogue Partner status, we believe that our political and economic cooperation with the ASEAN region, which has a population of approximately 700 million and an economy exceeding 4 trillion US dollars, will deepen even further.

I wish this new era to be auspicious for our country and the ASEAN members.
