Following our signing of the Strategic Partnership Framework Document with the United Kingdom last month, today we successfully held the Third Meeting of the Türkiye-Germany Strategic Dialogue Mechanism in Berlin.
This meeting, convened after a 12-year interval, has demonstrated the shared determination of our two countries to advance their strategic cooperation even further.
In our discussions with German officials, including Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, we comprehensively addressed our bilateral relations.
We will continue to deepen our cooperation in areas such as defense industry, economy, energy, and connectivity through concrete projects and mutual investments.
We once again emphasized that the Turkish community in Germany serves as a vital bridge strengthening the human, cultural, and economic foundations of our relations, and the importance of preserving these ties.
Our discussions also extensively covered regional and global developments.
We exchanged views on current issues, including preparations for the NATO Summit to be held in Ankara, European security, developments related to the Russia-Ukraine war, the conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel, and the situation in Gaza. We underscored the importance of resolving existing crises through diplomatic means.
The multifaceted partnership between Türkiye and Germany also holds great significance for Europe’s stability and prosperity.
We will steadfastly continue our close coordination and cooperation with our ally Germany on bilateral, regional, and international matters.
