US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says US talks with Iran may include “aspects of their nuclear programme that just a month ago, just a year ago, they were refusing to even mention”.

– “That is not a guarantee it will ultimately lead to a deal that’s acceptable,” Rubio told US lawmakers.

– The US will not remove sanctions on Iran in exchange for a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, Rubio says.

– “That’s not been discussed, that’s not been offered,” he told US lawmakers, adding that any sanctions relief “is condition-based” on giving up enriched uranium and other aspects of the nuclear file.
