💬 Vladimir Putin: Your visit today underscores the level of relations that Russia and India have built over many decades.
We continue our work in virtually every area – at the government level, through interparliamentary ties and between our business communities.
I am pleased to note that our trade has grown this year. It declined slightly in 2025, but is now rising again. This is due in no small part – perhaps above all – to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who personally pays close attention to the development of Russian-Indian relations.
🤝 First of all, I would like to ask you to convey my warmest regards to Prime Minister Modi. I hope to see him soon, as planned, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation events. Given our schedules, we may well meet again later this year.
We are very glad to see you, Mr Minister. I know that you and your Russian counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov, who chairs the Russian Side of the Intergovernmental Commission, have already had productive discussions and covered a broad range of important issues. There are many of them.
One such issue concerns not only energy supplies but, of course, fertiliser deliveries. We are doing everything necessary to meet the needs of Indian farmers and agriculture, increasing these supplies and ready to continue doing so.
All other matters – including nuclear energy, cooperation in high-tech sectors and other areas – are also on the agenda, and all are making steady progress.
