Oman’s foreign minister has spoken with his German counterpart about ways to “resume freedom of navigation” in the Strait of Hormuz.
– A readout from Oman’s foreign ministry said Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Johann Wadephul also discussed ways to “reduce tensions and escalation” and enhance regional security.
– Oman has played a key mediating role in efforts to restore commercial traffic through the strait, including talks with Iran on temporary shipping routes, as Iranian restrictions on the waterway and a US naval blockade of Iran continue.
