Strengthening the strategic partnership between the OIC Department of Humanitarian Affairs and the UNDP
His Excellency Amb. Dr Tariq Ali Bakheet, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, received a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), led by Ms Nahid Hussein, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.
During the meeting, progress was reviewed on the joint Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in humanitarian, social, and development fields. The meeting also explored opportunities to launch joint projects to support capacity building and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Member States. The importance of an effective partnership in enhancing resilience and addressing shared humanitarian priorities was emphasized.
The OIC continues its efforts to expand its network of international partnerships in a manner that serves the causes of the Islamic world and supports its stability and development.
