The number of US servicemen killed in the conflict with Iran is higher than official figures and stands at a least 22 rather than 18, The Washington Post (WP) reported, citing sources.
– According to them, Pentagon officials are dissatisfied that the accurate figures are not reflected in official documents of the US Department of Defense.
– The United States and Israel launched the war against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. However, on the night of July 8, the United States resumed large-scale strikes against Iran, accusing it of violating the agreements on the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 25% of the world’s oil trade and about 20% of liquefied natural gas trade pass. Later the US effectively signaled that it would stop using large-scale military force against Iran and shift to an attempt to economically smother it with sanctions.
