New Zealanders deserve a public service that delivers results and better value for their taxpayer money.
Too much of government is tied up in duplication right now – outdated systems and unnecessary bureaucracy, and 39 separate agencies.
So we’re modernising the public service by streamlining agencies, embracing AI, and making sure your money is spent where it delivers the best value for you, the taxpayer.
By doing that, we expect to save another $2.4 billion over the next four years, which will be reinvested into frontline services like health, education, infrastructure, Defence, and Police.
Fixing the basics, building the future.
