The 11th International “Ulaanbaatar Dialogue” Conference to Be Held

The 11th International Conference on Northeast Asian Security, known as the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue, will be held in Ulaanbaatar on June 4–5. Approximately 250 participants from around 30 countries and international organisations, as well as representatives of Mongolian government institutions, academics and researchers, are expected to attend.

As part of the conference, discussions will be held on five main themes. Participants will examine the challenges and opportunities facing regional security in Northeast Asia, explore preventive diplomacy, mediation practices and sustainable approaches to conflict resolution, and discuss emerging security challenges, including issues arising from artificial intelligence.

The conference will also address opportunities and challenges for strengthening cooperation between Central Asia and Northeast Asia, regions that Mongolia sees itself as connecting at a strategic crossroads. Discussions will further focus on the concept of a green energy corridor linking the two regions and broader policy issues related to regional cooperation.

Over the years, the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue has evolved into a traditional platform for exchanging views on regional security issues in Northeast Asia and identifying possible solutions. In line with Mongolia’s multi-pillared foreign policy objectives, the forum promotes dialogue on peace, openness and regional security. It has developed into a venue that regularly brings together representatives not only from Northeast Asia but also from across the wider Asia-Pacific, Middle East, North America and Europe, establishing itself as an important international platform for dialogue and cooperation.
