During the phone call with my colleague from Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, we discussed various regional developments and efforts to strengthen the long-standing close bilateral relations between Malaysia and Pakistan.

I also conveyed Eid al-Adha greetings to him and the people of Pakistan, with the hope that the spirit of sacrifice and brotherhood will continue to strengthen peace and the well-being of the ummah.

We touched on the positive developments in negotiations between Iran and the United States, including discussions related to reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for regional trade stability and security, and I expressed Malaysia’s appreciation for Pakistan’s role in ongoing mediation efforts as well as its willingness to host the next round of talks.

In this regard, Malaysia remains steadfast in its position that all disputes must be resolved through dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful approaches to ensure stability in West Asia.

We also discussed the importance of the international community speaking out and taking firm steps to stop Israel’s violence and brutality against civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

Insya-Allah, relations between Malaysia and Pakistan will continue to be strengthened based on the spirit of friendship, mutual respect, and shared commitment to global peace and prosperity.
