Lithuania will boost the security around critical infrastructure sites, its prime minister said on Monday, following an attempted arson attack on a Starlink base station on the outskirts of Vilnius that authorities said was sabotage linked to Russia.
– Lithuanian government and security officials met to discuss the situation following a suspected drone explosion and Sunday’s Starlink incident amid concerns in the region that the war in Ukraine is spilling across NATO’s northern borders.
– “We agreed to increase the level of preparedness at critical infrastructure objects which are important to the country… we will devote a larger number of forces and more attention to the objects,” Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius said on Monday.
