I received a phone call from the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Dr Al Khulaifi, who reiterated his country’s steadfast and unwavering support for Lebanon. He stressed Qatar’s firm rejection of the continued Israeli attacks and its strong condemnation of the harm inflicted on innocent civilians. He also informed me that Qatar has dispatched a plane carrying medical aid, which is expected to arrive in Beirut today, and affirmed that his country will continue to stand by the Lebanese people during this particularly difficult period.
For my part, I expressed our sincere appreciation to the State of Qatar for its genuine solidarity and this generous humanitarian gesture. I also emphasized that Lebanon is relying on the support of friendly countries to help bring an end to Israeli escalation, and to back the Lebanese state in carrying out its decisions to fully restore its sovereignty and ensure that arms are held exclusively by legitimate forces across all Lebanese territory.
