President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, discussed with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, during a phone call held this afternoon, the general situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as the rapidly evolving security developments in the south, in addition to matters of concern to both countries. President Aoun thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed for the attention that the United Arab Emirates is showing to Lebanon’s needs across all levels and for the support it is providing to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese in these difficult circumstances through which Lebanon is passing. During the call, President Aoun considered the visit made by the Emirati delegation, headed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, to Lebanon, the fruitful meetings it held with Lebanese officials and businessmen, as well as the warm reception received by the Lebanese delegation that visited Abu Dhabi last week, to be an expression of the depth of the fraternal relations uniting the two brotherly countries, and to lay the foundation for further cooperation in all economic, commercial, and investment fields.
