I confirmed Italy’s full solidarity for the attacks suffered in recent months and our commitment to stability, security, and de-escalation in the Middle East, also to safeguard freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
I emphasized the decisive role of the Kurdish authorities for Iraq’s political and institutional stability, thanking them for the important action of the Erbil Government in safeguarding the Christian community. In the meeting I confirmed Italy’s support for the country’s stabilization process and that of Iraqi Kurdistan, also through a strengthening of bilateral economic partnership that allows our businesses to export more and more also to Iraq.
