Prime Minister Mr. Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received, on Monday, the commander of the German forces deployed outside Germany, Mr. Gunther Schneider, and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to strengthen and develop them in the military and security fields through joint programs, in a manner that contributes to improving the performance and efficiency of the Iraqi armed forces.
The meeting reviewed the preparations for completing the withdrawal of the international coalition forces from Iraq, where His Excellency pointed to the importance of transitioning toward multidimensional relations with the coalition countries, and praised the ongoing German role for years in assisting Iraq in its war against terrorism, especially during the period of confronting elements of the terrorist ISIS organization.
