Iran’s Foreign Ministry says it is preserving its right to self defence but would like to invite international institutions, the UN Security Council, to the table for mediation.
– Its statement also keeps the door for mediation open under international institutions but it says that as long as the US continues to attack Iranian vessels and oil tankers, it will continue to attack the US side.
– Shortly after the Foreign Ministry statement, we heard from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a statement that suggests that the maritime restricted area would extend from Chabahar in Iran into parts of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea with its precise coordinates to be announced.
– This is a game changer because now the Iranians are extending this conflict from the Strait of Hormuz to the Arabian Sea.
