Iranian officials have captured a “significant weapons cache” after a clash with armed smugglers along the country’s border with Pakistan, according to Iran’s Fars news agency.

– The deputy commander of Sistan-Baluchestan province’s border guards told Fars that his group had discovered four RPG-7 launchers, six antitank RPG projectiles, six RPG propellant charges, 2,382 rounds for AK-47 assault rifles and 796 rounds for M4 rifles.

– The weapons and ammunition were being smuggled into Iran “to carry out acts of sabotage and create insecurity”, according to Fars.
