Türkiye is a key partner in our efforts to strengthen and diversify Europe’s connectivity towards the Middle East and Asia.
I was pleased to meet with Minister of Transport Abdulkadir Uraloglu today for a first 🇹🇷🇪🇺 bilateral connectivity meeting.
We agreed to step up our work on concrete projects such as the Halkalı–Kapıkule railway line between Istanbul and the Bulgarian border, and, together with EIB, explore support for the the Istanbul North Rail Crossing.
Our work will improve supply chains and reduce the time and cost of trade between the EU, Türkiye, the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
