Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, the secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has expressed his “strongest condemnation” of Iran for its attack on Kuwait, calling it a “dangerous and irresponsible escalation”.
– Al-Budaiwi said in a statement that the attacks undermined efforts to preserve security and stability and called on the international community along with the UN Security Council to take a “firm and deterrent stance towards these serious violations that threaten regional and international peace and security”.
– He added that Kuwait was an integral part of the GCC and that GCC countries stand “united and firm”, adding that they fully support “all the measures and procedures it [Kuwait] takes to protect its security, preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and maintain the security of its citizens and residents”.
