France has pledged an additional 3m euros ($3.36m) to support Yemen following the internal displacement of nearly 200,000 people.

– “The Houthi offensive in the ‌Bab al-Mandeb strait has triggered a new humanitarian shock,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told a group of humanitarian organisations in Paris.

– “In response to ⁠this tragedy, I ⁠have decided to allocate an additional 3m euros in support, bringing ⁠our total aid to the Yemeni population ⁠to more than ⁠7m euros in 2026,” he said.

– As of September 30, the latest escalations had forcibly displaced at least 197,906 people, according to Yemen’s Executive Unit for the Management of IDP Camps.
