President Erdogan spoke by phone with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy.
The leaders discussed the Türkiye-Italy bilateral relations, as well as regional and global matters, including the trajectory of the conflict-ridden process in our region.
President Erdoğan stated that efforts are ongoing to expand the Türkiye-Italy cooperation in every area, trade in particular.
Noting that Türkiye is closely following the developments in Iran as well as their ramifications in the region, President Erdoğan stated that necessary recommendations have been conveyed to the parties to refrain from steps that would increase the instability.
Stressing that Türkiye favors a stronger diplomatic foundation and that the international community must collaborate to this end, President Erdoğan warned that the conflict-ridden process also endangers the global security.
President Erdoğan added that the conflicts occurring in our region and the world have once again demonstrated the importance of increased cooperation among NATO allies, particularly in defense industry.
