Cambodia and Vietnam are seeking to expand bilateral trade to $20 billion through enhanced cooperation across trade, economic ties, infrastructure, healthcare, security and education.

– National Assembly President Khuon Sudary expressed support for closer bilateral relations during talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, according to an official statement from the assembly.

– Sudary highlighted six memorandums of understanding signed between the two nations, stating the agreements will advance cooperation and economic development.

– She described Hung’s official visit, made at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Manet, asa key effort to translate political consensus between top leaders into direct economic progress.

– Sudary noted that comprehensive cooperation is vital amid regional and global geopolitical uncertainties, adding that parliamentary diplomacy plays an increasingly active role alongside state initiatives.

– Hung expressed confidence that Cambodia will meet its 2050 development targets under the leadership of the Royal Government, Senate and National Assembly.
