Azerbaijan’s President, Ilham Aliyev, met with Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, who is visiting Baku.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations across various fields, as well as several regional and international issues of mutual interest.

– In joint remarks to the press after the meeting, Aliyev said that political relations between the two countries had reached their highest levels, adding that trade ties were also progressing excellently, reinforcing economic links between Baku and Rome. He noted that Italy ranks as Azerbaijan’s largest trading partner worldwide.

– Meloni, for her part, said she had reviewed with the Azerbaijani president ways to further consolidate ties between the two countries, stressing the need to expand the scope of their cooperation.
