With today’s visit by Prime Minister Péter Magyar, we are opening a new chapter in our bilateral relations: Vienna and Budapest are drawing closer together again and returning to a constructive and trust-based cooperation. For our two countries and for a strong Europe. A hearty welcome to Vienna, dear Magyar Péter!

Only an innovative and united Europe can confidently represent its interests in an increasingly unstable world. Anyone who wants to safeguard Europe’s ability to act must support our industry, promote new technologies, and complete the single market. Economic strength also means geopolitical clout. For that, we need secure, affordable energy, a climate policy that bolsters competitiveness, and bolder steps against rampant bureaucracy.
