Praise be to God, I had the opportunity to hold a phone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, to convey Eid Mubarak greetings as well as fraternal salutations and prayers from the entire people of Malaysia to the people of Iran.

I expressed my hope that Iran will soon return to peace and that all tensions and bloodshed can be halted through the path of peace, wisdom, and responsible diplomacy.

Malaysia remains steadfast in its firm condemnation of any acts of aggression and invasion, including those involving drone strikes and the military actions of Israel-United States, which only continue to sacrifice the lives of innocent people.

I also recorded my appreciation for the support and cooperation from the Iranian side in assisting with the release of the Malaysian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz the other day. It is attitudes of mutual respect and the spirit of friendship such as this that must continue to be strengthened in relations between nations.

The President of Iran also expressed his appreciation for Malaysia’s consistent stance in upholding peace, justice, and the principles of humanity on the international stage, while inviting me to undertake a visit to Tehran to strengthen bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between our two countries.

Insya-Allah, I will arrange a schedule to visit Iran at an appropriate time. Iran is always close to my heart, especially since there are many friends and acquaintances there who continue to uphold the values of knowledge, brotherhood, and the universal struggle for humanity.
