During our first bilateral official visit to Canada, we held highly productive meetings and discussions over two days in Ottawa and Toronto.

I sincerely thank my esteemed counterpart, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, for the warm hospitality she extended throughout our visit.

Our discussions once again demonstrated that the relations between our countries are advancing toward an ever-stronger partnership, in line with the objectives set forth by our esteemed President and Canadian Prime Minister Carney.

We are implementing concrete projects in numerous areas, particularly in trade, investment, transportation, and defense industry. On the occasion of our visit, we comprehensively assessed our ongoing work.

We are working intensively to ensure the Turkey-Canada Free Trade Agreement is signed at the earliest opportunity.

Civil nuclear energy stands out as one of the important topics where we can further develop our cooperation. We attach great importance to sharing technical data, knowledge, and experience in this field. Indeed, together with my counterpart, we conducted inspections at the Darlington Nuclear Power Plant near Toronto and exchanged views on steps that can be taken to strengthen our cooperation in the nuclear energy field.

As part of our Toronto program, we also met with our businesspeople in Canada. Hosted by the International Democrat Union, we convened with representatives of Turkish and Muslim communities. I extend my thanks to our citizens for their constructive cooperation on behalf of Türkiye and their sincere efforts to advance relations between our two countries.

In pursuit of our goal to imbue our relations with our ally Canada with a strategic perspective in the period ahead, we will continue our high-level contacts and work to further develop our cooperation in every field.
