Virtual meeting of the AU High-Level Ad Hoc Committee on South Sudan (C5)
On behalf of H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, H.E. Amb. Selma Malika Haddadi represented the African Union Commission at the virtual meeting of the AU High-Level Ad Hoc Committee on South Sudan (C5), chaired by H.E. President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The meeting reviewed developments and assessed the implementation of commitments arising from the C5 Plus Summit held in Addis Ababa in February 2026.
As South Sudan approaches its scheduled elections of 22 December 2026, the African Union reaffirmed its commitment, alongside C5, IGAD and partners, to advancing the Revitalized Agreement and fostering conditions conducive to a peaceful and credible political process ” .
