Honored to welcome President of the Republic of India, Droupadi Murmu, to Victoria Palace.
Romania and India have significant potential to expand economic cooperation. We discussed opportunities in energy, defence, technology, pharmaceuticals and fertilizer production, with the shared goal of increasing trade and investment between our countries.
We also agreed to continue working towards elevating our bilateral relationship to a Strategic Partnership by 2028, when Romania and India will mark 80 years of diplomatic relations.
Better connectivity is key to achieving these goals. We discussed the strategic role of the Port of Constanța, as well as the potential for improved air connectivity, to support trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
Today’s Romania–India Business Forum is an important step towards turning these objectives into concrete partnerships and projects.
