Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, H.E. Mauro Vieira, on the sidelines of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), in Manila, the Philippines. They discussed ways to enhance ASEAN-Brazil cooperation in areas of mutual interests in line with the ASEAN-Brazil Sectoral Dialogue Partnership: Practical Cooperation Areas (2024-2028). Both sides also exchanged views on the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), taking note of its 50th anniversary this year and recalling that Brazil acceded to the TAC in 2012 as the first country from Latin America to do so.
