Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, a senior envoy for the Board of Peace, is due to meet Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot on Friday, according to Israeli media.
– The Haaretz newspaper reported that Blair met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Thursday, in addition to holding talks with President Isaac Herzog.
– According to the report, the meetings were aimed at advancing US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan following Israel’s recent elections. The planned meeting with Eisenkot is intended to establish a working relationship, Haaretz added.
– The talks come as Herzog holds consultations with party leaders before tasking a candidate with forming the next government. The Democrats party has recommended Eisenkot for the role, according to Israeli media.
