Iran’s nuclear technology is safe from external disruptions and cannot be halted by threats, pressure or attacks, the head of the country’s Atomic Energy Organization says.
– Mohammad Eslami said Iran’s nuclear advances are a national achievement built through the round-the-clock dedication of Iranian scientists, adding that US rhetoric at the UN was evidence of its “helplessness”.
– “Overt threats by US officials to use tactical weapons against Iran’s nuclear facilities – delivered right from the United Nations podium – and talk of destroying Iran’s ancient civilisation reveal helplessness in the face of a pioneering nation that has historically been the cradle of science, knowledge and technology,” Eslami was quoted as saying by Iran’s semiofficial Tasnim News Agency.
– US officials have repeatedly said Washington could launch attacks against Iran’s nuclear sites if diplomatic efforts to curtail its atomic activities fail.
