We condemn the provocative statements by Erdoğan regarding the recognition of the pseudostate, as expressed in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly. With its uncompromising stance, Turkey not only fails to assist but undermines the efforts of the United Nations Secretary-General to restart the negotiations.
We must remain steadfast in our principled positions, based on the United Nations resolutions. In this way, Turkey will be exposed before the international community, as well as within the European Union, from which it has expectations.
We are ready to support efforts and proper initiatives from our own side, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Secretary-General, with the aim of resuming substantive negotiations.
This is the only path to achieving the liberation and reunification of our homeland, without occupying troops, without anachronistic guarantees, and without intervention rights.
