On this Monday (24th), I held a phone conversation with the President of Turkey, Recep Erdoğan, to discuss bilateral issues and global matters.

We agreed to establish a Strategic Council at the level of vice presidents to develop a roadmap for deepening bilateral relations.

We celebrated the recent ratification, by the parliaments of both countries, of the Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement.

I stated that Brazil intends to expand investments in the defense sector and expressed interest in fostering partnerships between Brazilian and Turkish companies in this area.

We also agreed to send a Brazilian delegation to Turkey, led by the Ministers of Defense and Development, Industry, and Trade.

We lamented the persistence of conflicts around the world and emphasized the importance of intensifying dialogue to find paths to peace in Ukraine and the Middle East.

President Erdoğan invited me to participate in COP31 on Climate Change, to be held in Antalya in November. I thanked him and accepted the invitation, and expressed my expectation of meeting him soon.
