Hamas Political Bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya has met in Cairo with a delegation from Fatah’s Democratic National Current headed by Mohammed Dahlan, to discuss political and field developments in the Palestinian territory, Hamas said in a statement.
– The meeting reviewed ceasefire negotiations, efforts to ensure Israel’s implementation of the agreements, and humanitarian aid for Gaza, the statement said.
– Al-Hayya separately briefed faction leaders and representatives on his meetings with mediators and Egyptian officials. After the briefing, faction leaders accused Israel of stalling the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, saying it had reneged on previously agreed-upon deals.
– The Democratic National Current is an influential reformist faction within Fatah – which governs parts of the occupied West Bank through the Palestinian Authority – that operates independently from President Mahmoud Abbas’s central leadership.
