Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon have been discussed by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and US General Joseph Clearfield, head of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L).
– Berri said Israel has continued systematic violations and attacks against Lebanon and the south since November 2024, including the destruction of villages, farmland and forests, as well as damage to heritage sites.
– Lebanon’s leading Shia politician and Hezbollah ally demanded that Israel end its war and withdraw to the international border.
– Under a US-brokered ceasefire, Israel agreed to a gradual withdrawal from southern Lebanon and for Lebanon’s army to deploy.
