H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on 4 August 2026, delivered a Policy Speech at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, highlighting Thailand’s strong commitment to and continued support for ASEAN, particularly in advancing the implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future towards a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred ASEAN Community.

Prior to the Policy Speech, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivered opening remarks, commending H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul’s distinguished leadership and Thailand’s pivotal contributions in strengthening the region’s shared aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity.

Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn underscored the importance of high-level engagements by ASEAN Leaders in shaping regional discourse and in strengthening engagement with the diplomatic corps, Entities associated with ASEAN, academia, think tanks, the business community and the ASEAN Secretariat.

During his visit to the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, presented an artwork from Thailand to the Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn.

This presentation symbolised Thailand’s commitment to cultural exchange and ASEAN Community-building, while reaffirming the importance of promoting the region’s rich cultural heritage. The artwork will serve as a lasting symbol of the Thai Prime Minister’s historic visit to the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, and of the shared values of unity, friendship and cooperation among the ASEAN Member States.

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat.

The meeting underscored Thailand’s instrumental role and unwavering commitment to the work of ASEAN, particularly in its capacity as the ASEAN Country Coordinator for Sustainable Development. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn expressed his appreciation for Thailand’s continued support for advancing ASEAN’s priorities and strengthening regional integration for the benefit of the peoples of ASEAN.
