Prime Minister Mr. Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, and Lebanese Prime Minister Mr. Nawaf Salam, chaired the talks held between the two countries, which began in the capital Baghdad today, Sunday, in the presence of a number of ministers from both countries.

The talks witnessed discussions on ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various economic, political, and security fields, as deliberations were held during them on prospects for developing the partnership between the two brotherly countries in a manner that contributes to enhancing steps toward comprehensive and sustainable development, and achieving the interests of the Iraqi and Lebanese peoples.

Mr. Prime Minister affirmed the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Lebanon, and the keenness to develop it, as well as the importance of entering into fruitful economic partnerships in various development sectors.

His Excellency also emphasized the joint coordination between the two countries to confront the challenges facing the region, and support for joint bilateral action to bolster regional stability, reduce tensions, and halt conflicts.
