The state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea has concluded

The state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung, and his wife, Kim Hye-gyong, who arrived at the invitation of the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, has concluded.

As part of the visit, the Presidents of the two countries held official meetings and negotiations, and briefed representatives of media organizations on the results of the negotiations.

The heads of state exchanged views on expanding the “Strategic Partnership” relationship and further developing mutually beneficial cooperation in international and regional platforms, and participated in the opening of the “Mongolia-Korea Business Forum”.

The parties confirmed that this state visit, which took place after 15 years at the level of the head of state of the Republic of Korea, marks the beginning of a “Golden Era” of relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, based on common values ​​such as democracy, human rights, and freedom.

It has also served as an important impetus for deepening political mutual trust and “Strategic Partnership” and strengthening friendship and camaraderie between peoples.

The two sides highly appreciated the continuous development of friendly relations and cooperation over the 36 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, reaching the level of “Strategic Partnership”, and issued a “Joint Declaration” to further expand it.

During the visit, the parties signed 21 intergovernmental and inter-governmental documents on cooperation in sectors such as health, education, environment, food, agriculture, information technology, culture, sports, tourism, transport, logistics, geology, essential minerals, and urban development.

President Lee Jae-myung and his wife Kim Hye-gyong attended the opening ceremony of the National Festival as guests of honor, toured the shooting range and archery pavilion, and greeted the festivalgoers.

The honored guests were seen off at Chinggis Khaan International Airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Battsetseg.

Two countries:

-In 2006, the “Partnership for Good Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation”

-In 2011, “Comprehensive Partnership”,

-A “Strategic Partnership” relationship was established in 2021.

Mongolia and the Republic of Korea established diplomatic relations on March 26, 1990. The Republic of Korea opened its embassy in Ulaanbaatar in 1990, and our country opened its embassy in Seoul in 1991.
