Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Hori visited the Solomon Islands and Australia. In the Solomon Islands, he visited the Solomon Islands Peace Memorial Park and offered flowers to the war dead, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Matthew Cooper Wale, held talks with Minister for National Planning and Development Coordination Peter Kenilorea Jr., and exchanged views with Japanese business representatives residing in the Solomon Islands and JICA overseas cooperation volunteers, among other activities.

In Australia, he held an informal discussion with Japanese business representatives in Brisbane and met with Assistant Minister for Immigration and Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Matthew Thistlethwaite in Canberra. Additionally, he attended a commemorative dinner marking the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Japan-Australia Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation held within the Australian Parliament and delivered a speech.
