His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received today, Sunday, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh, His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya.

Following the reception, His Royal Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of Kenya co chaired the first meeting of the Saudi Kenyan Political Consultations Committee. The meeting aimed to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries, enhance coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest, and contribute to supporting regional security and stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, three memoranda of understanding were signed.

The first was a Memorandum of Understanding on the Promotion of Direct Investment. It was signed on the Saudi side by His Excellency the Minister of Investment, Fahd Al-Saif, and on the Kenyan side by His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

The second was a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters. It was signed on the Saudi side by His Excellency the Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Eng. Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi, and on the Kenyan side by His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi.

The third was a Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Export Import Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation. It was signed on the Saudi side by the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Export Import Bank, Eng. Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Khalb, and on the Kenyan side by the Director General of the Kenya Development Corporation, Dr. Nora Ratemo.

In addition, an agreement concerning the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers was signed. It was signed on the Saudi side by the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labour Sector, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, and on the Kenyan side by the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eng. Waleed Al Khuraiji, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Saud Al Sati, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Kenya, Saad Al Nafie, and the Director General of the General Department for African Countries, Saqr Al Qurashi.
