This morning I spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi for the first time. We discussed his government’s commitment to tackling corruption and disarming militias in Iraq. This will help to bring greaterstability and security. Iraq also aims to use these positive developments to improve the trade and investment climate. In addition, Iraq is a key partner for the Netherlands when it comes to security cooperation and counterterrorism. Of course, we also discussed the regional security situation, particularly in neighbouring countries Iran and Syria.
