Iran’s IRNA news agency says during a 60-day period, Washington and Tehran will work on negotiations aimed at addressing and resolving three outstanding issues not addressed in the current memorandum of understanding.

– “The three issues are the continuation of the peaceful nuclear programme, lifting of sanctions, and a mechanism for compensating losses,” it said.

– “Final negotiations will not begin before the release of half of Iran’s [frozen] funds and the suspension of oil sanctions.

– “If Tehran decides to sign the memorandum, some of its frozen funds will be released immediately, and the rest gradually.”

Iran will not surrender its control over the Strait of Hormuz in any peace deal with the United States until the war is deemed to be over, local media reports say.

– “Contrary to what is being circulated by Western media, Iran will not commit to relinquishing control of the Strait of Hormuz. The only matter referred to in the memorandum of understanding is the return of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz after the end of the war,” Iran’s state media reported.

– “The main objective of signing the memorandum of understanding is to end the war on all fronts”, it added.
